Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, President, Indian Board of Alternative Medicines, has received the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award for his commitments to the field of Yoga and Naturopathy. The Award was presented by the All India Social Congress Organization (Established by Late Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi) at the Constitution Club, New Delhi on the occasion of 144th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (Father of Nation) on 2nd October, 2013.
The annual awards, administered by the All India Social Congress Organization are given to world leaders for their role in promoting peace. The award indicates the courage, commitment and selflessness of the recipients as distinguished peacemakers andhonours people who have risen above religious and ethnic divides to promote democracy, peace and justice using the Gandhian principles of non-violence.
